7 Great Hikes for Families in Utah County

7 Great Hikes for Families in Utah County

1. Bridal Veil Falls
This is a very short hike and a great way to get outside with your family without miles of hiking. You can park close to the falls and enjoy the scenery if your kids are young or unable to hike. If your family is antsy to hike there are a few different paths near the main trail that will get you to the upper part of the falls.
2. Battle Creek Falls
This hike is a lot of fun for families because it's short and has a great payoff! I have noticed that this hike is extremely popular among families with small kids, for good reason, so I recommend going on a week day and avoiding the weekend rush.

3. Stewart Falls
Taking the trail from Aspen Grove up to Stewart falls is the perfect hike if you want to get your kids excited about the outdoors! It's four miles total, so you'll want to bring snacks and water. The trail is beautiful the entire time, and the huge waterfall at the top is sure to impress your little ones.

4. Big Springs
This hike is fun any time of year, but I love it the most in the winter! It's a great, easy trail to snowshoe or cross country ski. Don't forget to bring a sled! There are a few hills near the parking lot that you won't want to miss out on.

5. Rock Canyon Cave or Campground

6. Pine Hollow
This hike gives you incredible views from the parking lot to the end of the trail! Get great views of Mount Timpanogus and the rest of American Fork Canyon. There is a beautiful meadow about a mile up, and it's a great place for a picnic.

7. Buffalo Peak
This is one of the shortest peaks with the most satisfying endings! Whether your child is 2 or 12, they will feel a strong sense of pride and accomplishment when the get to the top of this peak and get tremendous views of all of Utah Valley.
