Y Mountain
Distance: 6.6 Miles
Difficulty Level: Moderate
Elevation Gain: 3200
Location: Provo
The worst part of this hike is the first mile, unless you love hiking up the "Y". The next 2.3 miles are gorgeous, with canyon and mountain views all the way to the top. The summit has a great view of the city as well as Squaw Peak and Timp. This is a great training hike for mountains like Nebo and Spanish Fork Peak.
To be honest, when we did this hike in March it was tough. We didn't expect so much snow towards the top of the hike. Hiking in the snow felt so much slower. I was getting tired and frustrated. Luckily, we brought trail mix and a warm shirt in the pack and my hanger subsided. The top of the mountain has a hand made trail register to sign your name, so that made me feel better. Also, the trek back down wasn't too bad. So I enjoyed the hike overall, even in the tough snow!

This was definitely a tough but rewarding hike!
